Our Story

WW Technologies started out as "Woodwelding". It emerged from the innovative minds at Creaholic, a premier Swiss innovation firm located in Biel. Founded by the renowned Elmar Mock, the genius behind the Swatch®, Creaholic dedicated five years to the meticulous development of this technology.
This proactive incubation project encompassed foundational research, development, and validation of various applications. In 2000, a strategic collaboration was forged between Creaholic and GPI SA, leading to the establishment of WoodWelding SA. Their shared vision was to fine-tune the technology and introduce it to the global market.

Company Timeline

More than 20 years of experience

1999

WoodWelding SA was founded to invent and develop the next-generation of fixation technologies for wood material.

2000

First Industrial License The innovation caught the attention of Würth. The company licensed the technology from WoodWelding SA for industrial use.

2002

WoodWelding SA expanded from the wood application into bone and created the Bonewelding brand. As a disruptive entrant into the market, the company licensed the technology for cranio-maxillofacial to KLS Martin.

2017

Subsidiary founded for Veterinary Markets. VetWelding AG is leveraging the BoneWelding® technology in providing innovative solutions for the treatment of musculoskeletal system disorders in animals.

2023

Transition from 'Woodwelding' to 'WW Technologies'  In order to reflect our expanded scope and capture the diverse array of materials our technology now engages with.

Céline Arethens is a Swiss entrepreneur with a background in mathematics (EPFL) and management (HEC) who founded 2 successful companies in the tech field before joining WW in 2022.

Dr Bernd Robioneck · CTO

With over three decades in the biomedical engineering realm, Dr. Robioneck's experience is invaluable. Formerly serving as the VP of R&D at Stryker, he possesses a deep understanding of the field. His passion for WW technology is so profound that he dedicated his PhD research to it.
